Every platform says it helps you "sell online effortlessly." That sentence tells you nothing. So here is what CommerceOS actually is, in the plainest words we can manage — what it does, how it works, and what it costs today.

The one-line answer

CommerceOS is a visual store builder for independent brands: you assemble a storefront from real sections in a live editor, connect the payment methods Indians actually use, and run the whole business — catalog, orders, discounts, pages — from one dashboard or from your phone.

No code. No plugins to babysit. No cut of your sales.

A storefront built from sections

Pages on CommerceOS are stacks of sections — more than 80 of them, from hero banners and product grids to FAQs, testimonials and rich text. You drag them into place, tune their settings, and watch a live preview update as you type.

Two details matter more than the count:

  • Nothing publishes by accident. You save when you mean it, publish when you are ready, and can share unpublished work on a private preview link that only you can open.
  • Themes are visual, not technical. Color schemes, fonts and spacing are settings, not stylesheets. An optional custom-CSS box exists for the last 2% — you will not need it to launch.

Fast pages as a contract, not a promise

Slow stores lose sales quietly. CommerceOS treats speed as an engineering contract: cached storefront pages carry a sub-50ms response budget that is enforced in our build pipeline. If a change would make stores slower than the budget, the change does not ship.

That is a different thing from a landing-page promise. It is a rule our own developers cannot break.

Payments without the paperwork maze

Indian commerce runs on UPI and Cash on Delivery, so CommerceOS treats both as first-class citizens rather than plugins. Card and UPI payments go through your own payment provider (such as Razorpay or Stripe) at the rates they publish — the money flows to your account, not through ours. COD is built in, order statuses and all.

And because payments use the provider's hosted fields, card numbers never touch CommerceOS servers.

Security that is on by default

Every store's data is isolated at the database layer with row-level security. Staff sign-in supports authenticator-app 2FA with recovery codes. Every admin action is audit-logged. None of this is a paid add-on — it is simply how the platform is built.

What it costs today

CommerceOS starts at ₹699/mo — every feature, unlimited listings, no commission on sales, and a 14-day trial of everything before that. Plans are published on the pricing page first, and early stores keep founder pricing.

Where to start

If you are weighing platforms, our honest comparisons with Shopify, WooCommerce and Wix and Squarespace are the fastest way to decide. If you are ready to try it, a store takes about ten minutes to open — and the trial asks for nothing but an email.
